Sunnyvale Garden Club Christmas Tour of Homes, Gift Shop/Bake Sale to be held on Saturday, Dec. 6

Nov. 15, 2014 (Sunnyvale, Texas) –It’s been five long years since the Sunnyvale Garden Club (SGC) presented  the Christmas Tour of Homes, Gift Shop and Bake Sale. But the beloved event is back! With the presentation of a ticket, participants will be able to tour six of Sunnyvale’s finest homes bedecked in their holiday splendor.

The event takes place on Saturday, Dec. 6 from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

The Tour Headquarters will be located in the cafeteria of Sunnyvale High School (SHS) at 222 Collins Road.  Maps identifying the six homes on tour will be distributed at this location on the day of the event.

During the tour, participants will choose how long they stay in each home.  Parking will be extremely limited at each location.  All tour participants are encouraged to use the free shuttle buses.  Bus transportation will be provided by the Sunnyvale Independent School District. The bus route will begin and end at the Tour Headquarters.  If tour participants decide to drive their own cars, they may find they will have to walk longer distances because parking is so limited.

Tickets cost $15 each and can be purchased at the Sunnyvale Library, from any garden club member or at the Tour Headquarters on the day of the event. You must have your ticket with you during the entire tour.

Holiday Gift Shop and Bake Sale

The Holiday Gift Shop and Bake Sale also will be located Tour Headquarters in the SHS Cafeteria.  There is no charge for shopping. Community members are invited to visit these booths even if they don’t take the tour.

The ladies of Sunnyvale Garden Club are outstanding cooks, so come early for the best selection of holiday candies, cookies, breads, pies and cakes. Individual pieces/slices as well as full cakes/pies will be sold.

The Holiday Gift Shop will feature more than 20 vendors selling items that make great holiday gifts. Vendors will include:

  • Gardenuity
  • Girlfriends
  • Janie’s Crosses
  • Magical Memories
  • Scentsy
  • Southern Gypsy Rose
  • Sunnyvale Garden Club – glass art, cookbooks and local honey
  • Usborne Books and More
  • Wreaths by Stephanie

Shoppers can buy baked items and/or gifts early and these items can be held for pickup at the end of the tour.

This event is the only fundraiser that Sunnyvale Garden Club will undertake this year. Proceeds of the event will benefit:

  • Sunnyvale Independent School District – wildflower conservation garden
  • Sunnyvale Library – equipment
  • Sharing Life – job training program

SGC President Georgeann Moss said, “We are so grateful to the six homeowners who are so graciously opening their homes for the tour. This requires a huge investment of time and energy on their part during one of the busiest times of the year.”

“Their generosity will allow SGC to make a positive difference in our community through education, literacy and job training.”
